Professor Ali Akbar Ramzanianpour was born in 12/10/1951 Tehran , IRAN. He was graduated in Master Degree from Faculty of Engineering at Tehran University in Civil Engineering, 1974 and the Ph.D from Leeds University at the end of 1987 in United Kingdom. Professor Ali Akbar Ramezanianpour has been involved in teaching for the last 40 years in the field of concrete technology in Amirkabir University of Technology and as a visiting professor in Ottawa University in 1991, in Yamaguchi University in 1999 and in Toronto University in 2008.
He is a member of several national and international organizations. Member of ACI, Commission 5 of FIB, RILEM, ICOLD, IRCOLD, INRC, IACE, ICCS, ICS, and permanent committee of Building Code of Iran are among his national and international activities.

He is the member of the board of editors of Amirkabir, Science and Industry, Building and Housing, International Civil Engineering, Scientica Iranica, Sharif Journal and Structural Asian Journals. He has been awarded as distinguished professor and researcher in Iran and has won several prizes for best papers at conferences His main research interests are in durability of concrete, repair and maintenance of concrete structures, bridge management system, special concretes, pozzolanic cements He holds sixteen(16)patents on Blended silica fume cement, Natural pozzolanic cements, rice husk ash cements and SCC concretes.
